A Model for the Mechanism of Action of Coenzyme B12 Dependent Enzymes. Evidence for Rearrangements in Cobaloximes

The product obtained from the methanolysis of 2-acetoxyethyl-2-14C-(pyridine)cobaloxime indicates that this rearrangement occurs via the intermediacy of a Co(III)-π complex. The hypothesis that the reactions catalyzed by coenzyme B 12-dependent enzymes proceed via similar rearrangements is discussed.
