Abstract:
Uroporphyrins I and III were separated by high-performance liquid chromatography on a microporasil column using heptane-glacial HOAc-acetone-H2O (90:60:30:0.05 by vol.). By using uroporphyrin I-3H and uroporphyrin III-14C showed that <2% cross contamination occurred during the chromatographic separation The same system may be used to separate uro through protoporphyrins (as their esters) by simply increasing the acetone concentration.
